How is colour measured?
Twice a second we draw a downscaled copy of the frame to an off-screen canvas on your device and calculate average RGB, hue, saturation and a 32-bin luminance histogram.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my webcam look yellow or blue?
Usually mixed light sources — warm bulbs plus daylight — confuse automatic white balance. Use one type of light, or set white balance manually in your camera software.
Are these colour values my camera's specifications?
No. They are calculated from the current image, so they change with your lighting and scene.
