Privacy
Your camera and microphone are processed locally on your device.
What happens when you start a test
- Your browser asks you for permission. We cannot access anything until you allow it.
- Video plays in a preview on the page. Downscaled copies of frames are analysed in memory with JavaScript to calculate brightness, colour and sharpness.
- Audio is analysed in memory with the Web Audio API to show levels and a spectrum.
- When you stop the test or leave the page, all camera and microphone tracks are stopped.
What we never do
- Record video or audio
- Store or upload snapshots
- Send your stream to a server
- Include camera or audio content in analytics
Captured test images
"Capture Test Image" creates PNG and JPEG files in your browser's memory only. They're discarded when you leave unless you choose to download them.
Settings
Your Simple/Advanced preference is saved in your browser's local storage. It contains no personal data.
Future features
If we ever add a feature that needs to upload anything, it will ask for your explicit consent first.
