How to test your Logitech webcam

Plug in your Logitech webcam and open an online webcam test: it shows the live picture, the camera name (for example "HD Pro Webcam C920"), the resolution and the real frame rate. Logitech's own apps, Logi Tune and G HUB, let you adjust settings.

Test My Webcam

Quickest way: test your webcam online

Open the webcam test on this site and press "Test My Webcam".

When your browser asks for permission, choose Allow. Within a second or two you should see yourself in the live preview.

Check the results: camera name, resolution and the frame rate your camera actually delivers. If the picture is dark, blurry or choppy, the test tells you what to change.

Use Logitech's software

Logi Tune (most business and consumer webcams) and Logitech G HUB (gaming webcams such as C922 and StreamCam) show a preview and let you change zoom, focus, exposure and colour. Download them from Logitech's support site.

Look up your model's specifications

Our camera database lists Logitech models with their supported resolutions and frame rates, plus links to the official support pages for software and firmware.

Common Logitech problems

Low frame rate: Logitech webcams lower the frame rate in dim light (RightLight). Add light or turn RightLight off in the software.

Not detected: try another USB port directly on the computer, and close Logi Tune, G HUB or other video apps that may be holding the camera.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need software for a Logitech webcam?

No. Logitech webcams work plug-and-play. The software is only needed to change settings or update firmware.

How do I know which Logitech model I have?

The model is printed on the cable or the label under the camera. A webcam test also shows the name the camera reports to the browser.
